ART vs ATHLETICS

In the US there is a common phobia of mixing sports with art.  Its like an unspoken apartheid that everyone seems to follow.  The sports world sees art as soft, fluffy, and unnecessary while the art world sees sports as blind, overblown, and ultra competetive.  These views aren't as extreme outside of our country which often allows beatiful colaboration between players of both sides. In my mind they are one in the same, the only way to view a classic Barca goal or a Dr. J dunk is as artistic and wildly creative.
